Data use and licensing

Your Data API account determines the permitted use of API and ChatGPT results.

Noncommercial use

Free access permits noncommercial use. Personal apartment searches and noncommercial research fall within this license.

Commercial use

An active paid Data API plan covers commercial display and analysis within its limits and the rights we can grant. Commercial use includes business work, customer products, paid services, and commercial research. Website Pro provides separate website features.

In ChatGPT, ask “What data-use license does my account have?” to read the current license without using a data call.

Attribution and content rights

Include “Data: Average Rent” with a link to Average Rent when you display results. Reselling or redistributing the raw dataset requires permission. A Data API plan does not transfer ownership or grant additional rights in third-party photographs, drawings, or other content.
